Healthcare Support Worker - Enhanced Care Team

Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

Are you a Health Care Support Worker ready to provide Enhanced Care?

We are now recruiting enthusiastic and motivated Health Care Support Workers to become part of our EnhancedCare Team, which provides high standards of care to our patients on a one to one basis in our adult inpatient areas.

You will be caring for patients who require this extra supervision. These patients may be at high risk of falling, living with dementia, have a learning disability, a mental health issue or experiencing delirium. The enhanced care team delivers patient centred care to promote excellent patient experience. This opportunity will give you the chance to excel and develop your skills in a new and rapidly developing team, working with our vulnerable patients who will really benefit from and appreciate your care and compassion.

Enhanced care comprises the traditional terms such as 1:1 care and specialising.

The team work very differently to ward based teams. You will not be guaranteed a location to work your shift, but will be assigned a patient and will need to move with the patient as needed throughout that shift or care period. It is a different and exciting concept of care delivery. The enhanced care team works across the adult ward areas covering long days, nights and weekends.

Main duties of the job

We are working hard to recruit experienced and dedicated HCSWs and the aim is to have a fully established team of 12 full-time and part time staff (minimum contract 24.5 hours per week) covering long days, nights and weekends

The Health Care Support Worker works as part of the ward/department team under the supervision of registered nurse/midwife and:

  • Participates in the delivery of patient care
  • Contributes towards ward/department organisation
  • Support registered nurses in the provision of a safe and caring environment
  • Complete National Care Certificate

We welcome all applicants and any questions regarding flexible working arrangements can be discussed in advance or on the day of your interview.

Please write in your personal statement and expression of interest and why you have applied for this position.
