Job summary
To operationally manage the medical staffing function within the Surgical division ensuring the production and collation of the weekly and on-call rotas for all surgical specialities in liaison with the Assistant Service Managers.
To act as the main point of contact for all medical staffing enquiries in the Division, including leave, sickness and HR issues
Main duties of the job
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with great attention to detail to manage the medical staffing function within the Surgical Healthcare Group. This is a part post of 15 hours a week You will be working alongside a full time and part time medical staffing co-ordinator.
The successful candidate will work alongside the other Operational Staff within the team to provide support with Rota planning, locum usage, annual, study and sick leave for the Medical Workforce.
The role requires excellent attention to detail, communication skills and a strong focus on engagement with staff at all levels. You will have the ability to work with and improve, existing information systems and databases. With rapidly changing priorities this will require the ability to use your initiative, to manage your own workload and work under pressure. You will have excellent keyboard and IT skills together with experience of effective use of Excel and Word
You will provide the junior doctors with local support and be a central point of contact. Excellent communication skills are essential, and a sense of humour helps.
