The successful candidate will take on this 6-month fixed term secondment as the Patient Experience Quality Improvement Lead driving change using data and soft intelligence.

Working with our dedicated divisional, patient experience and quality improvement teams supporting the delivery of the Trust's patient safety, experience and quality strategy and quality improvement programmes we need you to drive change, through

Reporting to the Associate Director of Patient Engagement and Experience, this role is integral to patient experience across the organisation with the delivery of large and complex Trust wide improvement programmes aligned to PAHT 2030.

The CQC inpatient survey, urgent care survey improvement programmes are part of the safety, experience and quality strategy and prioritise communication, technology and kindness in our day to day patient experience practice.

The successful candidate will be integral to ensuring that a patient and person-centred culture is embedded in the organisation by working with staff to use quality improvement methodologies to achieve this.

Main duties of the job

JOB SUMMARY

The post holder will support the Trust patient experience improvement programme, this will include our CQC patient satisfaction survey, improvements from PALS and complaints actions.

The post with work with senior leaders within the corporate team and divisional patient safety and quality teams to support actions to address the concerns and themes raised.

The post holder will have to work independently and demonstrate leadership to deliver the improvements.

The post holder will need to work at senior level and identify risks to deliver the programme, working with the leadership team to mitigate the risk.

The post holder will be required to engage with our patients, family and carers to support the improvement work and identify any new areas to focus. The post holder will be required to review existing and support revising or developing new policies and processes.

This post holder will be responsible for driving significant improvements in service as a result of the patient experience and ensure that the Trust has in place a robust monitoring system to collect evidence in support of the achievement of CQC outcomes and other relevant standards for patients.

Develop communication channels with staff, patients and the public including the development of internal and external events and workshops, such as What Matters to Me and In Your Shoes as part of the quality improvement programme.

  • Support the existing data capture to analysis and support senior decision making at Trust Board level. Ability to write Board level papers and present on behalf of ADPE and DOCQG as required.

  • Engagement with the Trust wide quality and safety teams to identify any new themes or risks that will impact on patient safety.

  • Establish task and finish group with all divisions represented to deliver required improvements that have been identified from the recent CQC patient satisfaction survey.

  • Overall responsibility for the delivering the quality improvements for CQC patient satisfaction and complaints and PALS identified themes.

  • To act as a leader within the established patient experience team and provide role modelling and coaching to the team members as required.
