Job summary

The Mammography department is seeking to appoint a qualified Mammographer to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis.

You will participate in symptomatic and assessment clinics at the static unit and in screening mammography at both the static and mobile units.

PLEASE NOTE: To be considered for this post you must have a UK-issued Mammography qualification.

Main duties of the job

  • To undertake screening/other mammography in line with national and local protocols at either the static unit or mobile unit as arranged
  • Assist in interventional procedures - core biopsies, localisations etc - as required, including preparation of procedure trolley and support of patient undergoing procedure
  • To process images and prepare for clinical reporting
  • To ensure safe use of imaging and other equipment used in the department.

  • BSc. Radiography or Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equilevent / Post-graduate certificate in mammography
  • Current HPC registration
  • Evidence of CPD

Experience

Essential

  • Experience as a radiographer within a general x-ray department
  • Experience in breast screening/symptomatic services

Desirable

  • Experience in breast screening on mobile or static unit
  • Experience of QA procedure and processes

Skills

Essential

  • Knowledge of a breast screening programme
  • Computer literate
  • Understanding of IR (ME) R and other legislation relevant to the post
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload and work well under pressure with accuracy and speed and deal with stressful situations

  • Be able to perform screening mammography within a specified time constraint
