These are exciting times for the IT and Information Teams within The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust as they begin to modernize their business processes.

The Trust are now seeking to attract a highly motivated, ambitious, enthusiastic, and data curious individual to support the Information Manager, within the Information Team, in order to drive the vision forward as their new Divisional Information Analyst.

Development of a service orientated culture is at the heart of the changes and you can expect to engage with colleagues, whose role is to support clinical teams, on a regular basis and so well developed communication skills will be essential.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for developing the Trust's management information reporting, in order to meet the allocated Division's internal and external data/information requirements.

This post will play a key role in analysing and interpreting complex information and data, utilising available technology to extend the availability of information to users to both empower them and raise awareness of the importance of high quality data. The post will ensure the availability of timely and high quality reports to the Trust's internal and external stakeholders.

You will contribute to the delivery of a high quality, responsive and efficient information reporting service supporting PAH and customer objectives through delivery of reports via the PAH BI solution. You will also maintain high levels of quality through management of an assurance process working closely with your information manager, other information analysts and the service leads.

Qualifications

  • Post graduate diploma in Health Informatics or in Management Studies
  • Information Management or Statistics qualification

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proven technical expertise in data analysis such as Excel, Business Objects, SQL
  • Knowledge of demand and capacity planning techniques and tools
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills with examples
  • Ability to produce and interpret data and statistics
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail

Desirable

  • Knowledge of NHS Information terminology
  • Knowledge of NHS targets and performance indicators

Personal Qualities

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
