A secondment opportunity has become available at the Williams Day Unit, Haematology and Oncology Unit.
We are seeking a committed individual who will demonstrate the Values of the Trust to join our team. This job is working hours Mon - Fri 08:30 - 16:30 and will be responsible for administering supportive products for patients who either have a malignant or non malignant haematology / oncology diagnosis.
The successful candidate will work with in the Nursing team at the WDU and the MDT to deliver the high standard of care we seek for our patients.
Main duties of the job
Responsibility for the correct administration of prescribed medication including, blood transfusion, blood products, IVIG's, iron infusions and Zoledronic Acid.
To practice in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Trust Policies, Procedures and Guidelines.
Ensuring high quality, evidence based care is provided to the patient.
Recognise the significance of observations made, and use them to develop and initiate nursing assessments and recognising the signs of "deterioration" and take action as required without delay.
Ensuring compliance with all mandatory training requirements.
Good communication skills with patients, families, the multi-disciplinary team.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) provides a full range of general acute, outpatient and diagnostic services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, the Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop's Stortford, and St Margaret's Hospital in Epping.
Working at the Williams Day Unit you will be working with a mixture of the MDT members in the patients care this includes Chemotherapy Nurse, including the Hospitals SACT lead. Oncologists, Haematologists and the Clinical Nurse Specialised in the specific tumour sites. All staff will be willing to teach if you show interest in learning.
