Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a special interest in EPUPrincess Alexandra Hospital NHS TrustApplications are invited for a 12 fixed term locum, full time Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with a special interest in EPU, to join an existing team of 13 Consultant Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, 1 Consultant Gynaecologists, 1 Obstetrician, 2 Associate specialists at the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, Harlow.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will participate in the Obstetric hot week consultant rota.
There will be a 1:12 on call with prospective cover.
The post attracts 10 PAs (8.5 DCC, 1.5 SPAs)
Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology consists of an integral maternity and gynaecology unit on a single site, based at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. Inpatients are based at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, while clinics are held at Princess Alexandra Hospital, St Margaret's Hospital (Epping) and Herts & Essex Hospital, (Bishop's Stortford).

The post holder will be expected to support and lead on our early pregnancy unit. Provide weekly scanning support to EPU. In addition the post holder will participate in a Gynae theatre session once a fortnight, gynae emergency and obstetric hot week.

Essential
- Full GMC registration o Relevant CCT or equivalent (to be confirmed by GMC o Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
Desirable
- Higher degree (PhD or Master)
Management
Essential
- Experience in Clinical Risk Management and Audit. Experience of establishing guidelines & protocols.
Clinical Experience
Essential
- Clinical training and experience in general Obstetrics and Gynaecology equivalent to that required for a UK CCT.
Desirable
- Experience of laparoscopic surgery
Teaching and Research
Essential
- Experience of teaching & supervising junior medical staff. Commitment to support research and development within the Trust R&D policy
