An exciting opportunity has arisen to join The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAHT) as its Head of Financial Services. The role is a key member of the Finance Department.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior finance professional to join our organisation in a role which can make a significant difference to our patients. It is an exciting role for an individual who enjoys making a difference. This role is for a qualified accountant (CCAB/CIMA with current membership) who is able to lead their team and inspire them to deliver the best that they can so that our patients receive high quality care. The finance department is on an exciting transformation journey and this role will play a part in the delivery of our vision to be outstanding, integrated and modern. You will be expected to advocate, exemplify and commit to act as a role model, by championing PAHTs values.

Main duties of the job

The Head of Financial Services will

• Provide a complete range of technical financial services to the Trust, ensuring integrity of all income, expenditure and control account transactions and completion of the Trusts statutory accounts
• Lead on the delivery of all relevant statutory financial reporting duties
• Managing a large capital programme
• Manage the Trust liquidity to maximise BPPC performance whilst minimising risk to cash balances
• To take day-to-day responsibility for the provision of the Trusts financial systems and management of those systems
• Have day-to-day responsibility for the financial management and control environment surrounding the capital program
• To drive the Trusts delivery of the financial aspects of the assurance framework

To ensure the Trusts accounts are reported free from material misstatement as a result of error or fraud and that the Trust receives an unqualified audit opinion on its annual report and accounts.
