Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Consultant Surgeon to join our department in the provision of Urology Surgical services. The post is full time and include an on call commitment as part of the Urology Surgical on call rota (1:5).

The post offers the appointee the opportunity to join a friendly and forward thinking Urology surgical team.

Applicants must have teh following:

  • FRCS or equivalent
  • Entry on the Specialist Register (or entry expected within 6 months) with a CCT or equivalent
  • Full UK GMC Registration

The Advisory Appointment Committee for this vacancy has been scheduled for 24th June 2021.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is expected to have broad experience of Urology Surgery with the ability and drive to contribute to the further development of the expertise in this area. The appointees will be proficient in all aspects of Urology Surgery. The appointees will also be expected to fully participate in and support the Urology Surgery on-call rota. The successful applicants will also play an important part in the teaching and mentoring of our trainee doctors.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a young, dynamic and expanding department. The post will involve core urology with a dedicated subspecialty interest.

Additionally, the key responsibilities of the posts will be the development and delivery of urological elective and emergency care, supported by the existing urology team. The post holder will be expected to be closely involved in the management of the unit and education and training of the junior doctors.
