Job summary
The Cancer Performance team is looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and conscientious team playerto join the service as an Assistant Cancer Performance Manager.
The directorate is located across three sites (St Mary's Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital and CharingCross Hospital), the post holder will be mainly based at Charing Cross Hospital. The department isresponsible for supporting the delivery of cancer access targets, clinical datasets, national audits andservice improvement programs.
The role involves external stakeholder relationship management with cancer managers across thereferral catchment area to ensure effective cancer pathway delivery across North West London. Thepost holder will support the data collection, data validation and report production required to preparethe upload of Trust Cancer Waiting Times (CWT) data to NHS Digital.
The post will be of interest to those who wish to pursue a career in hospital management and would like to gain more experience in a busy service with a wide variety of challenges. We are looking for someone with experience in cancer performance, who can balance the demands of a very busy workload and is dedicated to delivering excellent patient experience. You will need to have good communication and analytical skills and be able to demonstrate that you can lead and motivate a multi-disciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
- Manage the Cancer PTL Review meetings with the MDT Coordinators and MDT Data Trackers. Ensure adherence to the PTL Review meeting agenda, Cancer PTL SOP, Cancer Escalation SOP and CWT Data Entry SOP.
- Provide assistance on the analysis, drafting and implementation of operational SOPs.
- Manage the daily monitoring of the cancer PTL, reporting on breaches and implementing remedial action plans.
- Assist in the investigation of all CWT breaches, patient complaints and DATIX reports.
- Assist in the implementation of the Trust's Clinical Governance framework and support the Clinical Governance infrastructure.
- Assist specialties interacting with cancer patients with the design and implementation of service redesign and improvement.
- Assist with workforce reviews and implementation plans to reflect the changing support requirements of the Cancer Performance team.
- To manage the communication and delivery of data entry and validation deadlines in line with the CWT Data Entry SOP.
