Job summary
The trust currently uses Cerner ePMA which is shared with another 3 acute Trusts as part of the North West London Acute Provider Group. When referring to ePMA in this job description it is specific to the Cerner ePMA system.
In partnership with NHS England and Oracle Health, the Trust is developing the ability to send prescriptions directly from Cerner to community pharmacies, by onboarding to the EPS (Electronic Prescriptions Service). This role will support the pilot, and post pilot rollout of EPS across North West London in addition to other responsibilities as specified below.
Main duties of the job
o To assist with the implementation, maintenance, development of electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA) across Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.o To support back-end technical processes such as configuration, development and testing of the Trust's current or future ePMA systems.o To train and support all staff involved with the ePMA process. This includes pharmacy staff, prescribers, nurses and floorwalkers.o Working with the Senior Pharmacist on arising issues to ensure that ePMA system is fit for purpose and suitable for use across the Trust.o To convey and promote benefits of ePMA and ensure any implementation is carried out in an effective and safe manner.o The post holder will exercise professional accountability and responsibility using professional skills, knowledge and expertise in changing inpatient environments, across professional boundaries and in unfamiliar situations.o To provide ePMA support services according to rota if necessary (including early, late, weekend working and on-call commitments)o To provide clinical pharmacy services, department and ward based, in line with Trust procedures and national legislation

- Member of the GPhC
- Post graduate certificate in Clinical Pharmacy Practice (minimum requirement) or currently undertaking the post graduate diploma in general pharmacy practice and have satisfactorily passed the 18 month stage assessment or equivalent
Desirable
- Diploma in pharmacy practice
Experience
Essential
- This must include a solid grounding in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice (medicines information, aseptic services, ward services and dispensing)
- Experience in delivering training and education
- Experience in use and knowledge of electronic prescribing systems
- Demonstrate the ability to appropriately recommend, substantiate and communicate therapeutic options for patients
