The Jefferiss Wing at St Mary's Hospital is on the lookout for a proactive, empathetic, and non-judgmental Healthcare Assistant to join our forward-thinking nursing team within the Integrated Sexual Health Service.

- Confident using your initiative in a clinical setting
- Experience in phlebotomy or sexual health screening? Great! If not, we'll train you.

Main duties of the job
- Following training and assessment record routine observations of weight, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiratory rate and pain scores. Report any abnormalities and concerns to a Registered Nurse.
- Following training and assessment perform venepuncture, microscopy, administer HIV point of care tests, pregnancy tests and urinalysis reporting abnormalities to the nurse in charge.
- Following training and assessment, undertake screening for sexually transmitted infections including male urethral swabs, skin swabs and male and female throat swabs.
- Measure, record and report capillary blood glucose levels of patients when required.
- Recognise when patients are in pain and discomfort and report to nurse in charge.
- Preparation and assisting with clinical procedures including chaperoning.
