Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Allergy Service at Imperial.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and proactive team player to join our department as an Allergy Pathway Coordinator.
The successful applicant will provide vital administrative and coordination support to the allergy clinical team. The primary function is to manage patient pathways, supporting consultants, specialist nurses, and other clinical staff within the department.
The role involves working closely with the medical and management teams, coordinating referrals, arranging investigations and follow-up appointments, processing clinic letters, and responding to queries from patients and colleagues across the Trust.
We are looking for a friendly, approachable and highly motivated individual who will perform their role in a calm and professional manner, communicating effectively with patients and hospital staff.
The ideal candidate will be dedicated to delivering an excellent patient experience and comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.This is a busy and demanding role which requires a proactive and confident person, with strong organisational and communication skills.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will be expected to manage capacity within their allocated services,bringing patients appointments forward where necessary, flagging up capacity issueswith specific responsibility to cross cover the other administrative coordinators duringperiods of unforeseen absences.
- Leading on data capture, validation of 18 week referral to treatment pathways andhelp support the managing of both inpatient and outpatient waiting lists.
- They will beexpected to contribute to the collection and analysis of data, assess the serviceneeds and develop improvement programmes and implement action plans to ensurethat appropriate outcomes are applied.
- The post holder will be responsible for the set up and coordination of clinics/sessionsfor this service and for processing incoming referrals, ensuring that the service isdelivered in a competent and efficient manner according to protocols and withinagreed timescales.
- The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that patients pathways are managedin a timely manner, within access timeframes, ensuring that patients are booked in torelevant clinics and sessions (e.g MRI/Theatre) as appropriate with clinical guidance.
- The post holder will work closely with the relevant service team, other health professionals and the Operations manager to ensure that patients are given appropriate appointments and receive a high quality service.
