Working across the delivery suite, antenatal and postnatal ward and with the option to join one of continuity teams working in antenatal clinic too.

Main duties of the job

  • Delivering holistic woman centred care that is tailored to individual needs
  • Working collaboratively within our multidisciplinary team, ensuring every woman receives effective, safe and responsive care.
  • Working as a mentor supporting students
  • To work flexibly within the team to provide 24 hour cover for antenatal/postnatal wards, labour ward, triage and antenatal clinic.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Degree level or equivalent experience as a registered midwife
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Mentorship/Practice Assessor qualification

Desirable

  • Mentorship/Practice Assessor qualification
  • Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics Qualification.

EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrable experience of working in all areas of midwifery for minimum of 2 years
  • Recent experience in an intrapartum setting
  • Knowledge and experience of obstetric emergency management

  • Previous experience in both high and low risk pregnancies and birth
