We are currently recruiting one Optometrist or Advanced Nurse Practitioner to work Tuesday in the glaucoma and Friday in the uveitis Service to cover Maternity leave, one year fixed post

This post is open to an Optometrist/ Advanced Nurse Practitioner as a Part-time (2 days a weeks), one year fixed term to cover Maternity working within ophthalmology. Please see JD for essential requirements for the post.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will be working in an Advanced clinical role while leading and developing ophthalmic practice within the trust.
- The aim of the role is to deliver a comprehensive Ophthalmic Led Service in Glaucoma and Uveitis.
- Responsible to manage own clinic profile within designated ACP led clinics.
- Function as an independent practitioner using advanced ophthalmic skills, especially in glaucoma and Uveitis
- Demonstrate appropriate practice and specialist advice in the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and discharge of patient care. This includes history taking, physical examination and the requesting of agreed diagnostic procedures/clinical investigations
- Responsible to assess, manage, investigate and discharge patients independently using appropriate equipment including slit lamp, diagnostic equipment, diagnostic lenses and manage patients according to local protocols.
- To provide a visible presence, professional leadership and expert practice within ophthalmology.
- Knowledge and competence to further develop and evaluate existing and new integrated care pathway documentation.
