Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated band 6 Bladder CNS., this new role will focus on facilitating and supporting the pathways for patients referred externally with Muscle invasive bladder cancer, You will join our dynamic and friendly uro-oncology clinical Nurse Specialist team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, based on the Charing Cross site. ICHT is a urological cancer centre, providing diagnostics as well as state of the art treatments. We are looking for a dynamic experienced CNS with good communication skills who has an interest in developing their CNS skills or extending their current portfolio of skills and abilities You need to be able to prioritise your workload and assist us in meeting NHS Cancer waiting times and RMP targets whilst maintaining the patient experience and supporting them and their families living with and beyond cancer.
You must be an experienced Uro-Oncology nurse, able to work autonomously as well as with the wider MDT having experience of looking after patients with urological cancers as well as proven excellent time management and communication skills. Experience in running nurse led clinics would be desirable although not essential.
As a band 7 you will be expected to meet the essential criteria, possess the relevant post registration experience as outlined in the person specification.

Main duties of the job
- Provide specialist nursing advice, care and support to patients with Bladder cancer and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients/clients and relatives/carers, both inpatients and outpatients in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team and in line with local and national targets.
- At all times, ensure that the needs of the patient are placed at the centre of care delivery. Where appropriate acting as 'associate key worker'.
- Work to improve the patient experience throughout the patient journey.
- Deputise for their line manager in designated tasks relevant to the development of role/clinical specialty.
- Act as professional role model, to support senior CNSs, providing direct and indirect clinical care, teaching and research as designated.
- To work with senior members of the team and contribute to best working practice of the clinical nurse specialist role in accordance with local and national policy and ensure the needs of patients and their families are central to service improvement initiatives.
