Job summary
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust welcomes ophthalmologist applicants to apply for an Educational Fellow post in Ophthalmology with special interest in simulation at the Western Eye Hospital. This is a 0.80 WTE post within the service There may also be an opportunity to undertake additional work in negotiation with the successful candidate.
For a fixed term of 12 months in the first instance
The post offers an exciting opportunity for an energetic and innovative person to join the ophthalmic service for the UK's first Academic Health Science Centre and the largest trust in the country.
Applicants must be currently or previously been working within the NHS, have MBBS or equivalent and at least 4 years training in ophthalmology and be fully registered with the GMC with a license to practice.

Main duties of the job
This post will provide the opportunity for a senior ophthalmology trainee to:
work in a unit with a strong education and training ethos
develop skills in simulation, education and training under supervision
develop experience in simulation and teaching clinical skills
take on roles as an Assessor, Clinical Supervisor and Educational Supervisor
develop skills in team working, project delivery and leadership
work with ophthalmologists, ophthalmic professionals and managers
contribute to the training development of pan-London trainees, services and the unit.

Enable participation by deanery / local trainees from across all centres in the London Deanery
