Job summary
As the Redevelopment Head of Healthcare Planning, you will be pivotal in ensuring that the clinical design and associated service transformation across our redeveloped sites create better hospitals that deliver better health, for life. You will lead the healthcare planning team, manage key aspects of clinical design, and ensure the efficient running of our hospitals. Your responsibilities will include healthcare planning, operating models, commissioning, risk management, and financial and progress reporting. You will engage with external stakeholders to include the New Hospital Programme and regulatory bodies, external contractors and suppliers. You will report to the Clinical Design Director and be responsible for regular reporting to the Trust Executive and Board Committees, providing assurance on the management of risks and compliance.

Main duties of the job
Responsible for delivering healthcare planning expertise, evidence-based clinical design, and best practices to ensure quality-assured hospitals that support high-quality care, education, and research. Oversee resource management, clinical design documentation, and business case development for investment proposals.
Support the Redevelopment Clinical Design Director in leading the Healthcare Planning team, ensuring alignment with programme objectives and Trust goals. Lead healthcare planning and operational commissioning for projects, ensuring effective user engagement, adherence to standards, and delivery of high-quality infrastructure.
Maintain strong internal and external relationships, assess performance, and integrate new initiatives. Engage external consultants for compliance with Trust policies and redevelopment schemes. Develop relationships with divisional leadership, suppliers, and external bodies to ensure strategic alignment and programme efficiency.
Support recruitment, induction, and ongoing education for the Healthcare Planning team and wider Clinical design team. Conduct research on healthcare design trends and best practices. Represent the Trust in senior meetings, regional/national conferences, and working groups. Manage financial targets, mitigate risks, and ensure cost-effective service delivery. Act as an ambassador for the Trust, contributing to the success of the redevelopment programme.
