Job summary
The post is based at the Jefferiss Wing, St Mary's Hospital, Paddington. You will join a multidisciplinary team of Consultants, Specialty doctor and associate specialists, Specialist trainees, GP trainees, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Nurses and Pharmacists who work in Sexual Health and HIV. Duties will vary over time but you will be expected to participate predominantly in HIV and Sexual Health outpatient services; providing both scheduled care for patients with appointments and unscheduled care for more urgent presentations. Inpatient and on-call duties are included as part of this post but this will depend on the needs of the service coupled with previous experience and qualifications
This job would suit someone considering further training in HIV, Genitourinary medicine, Infectious Diseases, General Medical specialties or Gynaecology. MRCP is desirable.
The rota is currently a full time and part time fixed term post working Monday to Friday. The post is compliant with the new junior doctor contract. Banding will be paid due to evening clinics on weekdays.
Your approximate rota will be: 09.00-17.15 x 4 days a week and 09.00-20.15 x 1 days a week (Monday, Tuesday or Wednesdays).
Main duties of the job
Duties will vary over time but you will be expected to participate predominantly in HIV emergency clinics and Sexual Health outpatient clinics. This job would suit someone considering further training in HIV, Genitourinary medicine, Infectious Diseases, General Medical specialties or Gynaecology/CSRH . MRCP is desirable.
The successful candidate is expected to perform all administrative duties appropriate to the post and when required, within the time limits specified by the Trust. Full participation in clinical audit and weekly clinical educational meetings is mandatory.
Educational Content of Post
Every Wednesday morning we have a (virtual) in-house programme of academic meetings including talks by external speakers, journal club, audit presentations etc. which you will be expected to attend. The Trust has a weekly (virtual) lunchtime grand round meeting.
You will be assigned an educational supervisor for the duration of the post and encouraged to participate in on-going clinical research and audit projects in the department.
