Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Band 2 Ward Clerk to join the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) at Charing Cross Hospital.

As a Band 2 Ward Clerk you will be a vital member of the ward team, ensuring patient information is maintain, stored and shared correctly. You will also be the first point of contact for patients and visitors and so a high level of customer service and professionalism is required.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for:

  • Excellent record keeping in line with GDPR, Caldicott Principles and Trust policy.
  • Excellent customer service skills ensuring that patients and visitors have a positive experience of the ward and that any enquiries are handled with care and attention to detail.
  • Supporting the ward with administrative tasks, including preparing patient information, managing data using the patients electornic patient record and ordering supplies.
  • Answering the telephone and emails in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Greeting patients, visitors and staff on their arrival to the ward and ensuring front door security is maintained, raising any concerns to the nurse in charge and the ward manager.
  • Any other administrative tasks within scope as delegated by the ward manager.
