Job summary

As an Audiologist you will be responsible for supporting your line manager in ensuring the clinical quality of the Adult Audiology Service, ensuring that our service users' needs are met through the delivery of high quality care.

The post holder will work unsupervised providing routine audiological assessment and rehabilitation to a wide range of patients. The role involves participation in supervision and training ofstudents. The post holder will be given training in more advanced techniques and must maintain continuous professional development whilst working towards higher levels of professional competence.

Main duties of the job

  • Key areas of responsibility are to provide routine audiological assessment and aural rehabilitation for adults, which includes providing counselling to distressed patients about their hearing loss and associated problems, and to have the ability to make decisions about the most appropriate course of treatment for the patient in their care (referring to senior staff when appropriate).
  • The post holder will assist in the day-to-day running of the Audiology Service to include maintenance of the highest levels of health and safety.
  • They will maintain a programme of continuing professional development (CPD) working towards higher levels of professional competence.
  • We are a UKAS accredited site and the post-holder will be involved in maintaining accreditation through participation in competency assessments and audits.
