You will be part of one the largest teams in our Pharmacy Department, already comprising of a group of extremely friendly and aspirational people.

You will play a pivotal part in our services, providing support and working closely with medical, nursing, pharmacy staff and the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) on a regular basis. Alongside attending ward rounds, you will also have the opportunity to partake in various MDT teaching, audits and service improvement projects. Main duties of the job

  • To deliver a high quality patient focused clinical pharmacy service to patients on the Acute Medical Unit (AMU), Acute Assessment Unit (AAU) and Elderly Medicine wards of the Trust.
  • To provide an extended hours clinical pharmacy service to the AMU/AAU according to rota (involving regular early, late and weekend working).
  • To assist the lead pharmacist in the management and development of medicines management initiatives to the Emergency, Acute & Elderly Medicine directorates
  • To assist the lead pharmacist in the management and development of the members of the Emergency, Acute and Elderly Medicine Pharmacy team (rotational and non-rotational).
  • To assist in the development of a clinical pharmacy service to the Emergency Departments.
  • To provide clinical pharmacy services, department and ward based, in line with Trust procedures and national legislation.

  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
  • Member of the GPhC
  • FS1 of the Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice (UCL) or other certificate equivalent

Desirable

  • FS2 of the Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice (UCL) or other equivalent certificate
  • Independent Prescriber

Experience

  • This must include a solid grounding in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice (medicines information, aseptic services, ward services and dispensing)
  • Experience in delivering training and education
  • Experience in management of others. Demonstrate the ability to appropriately recommend, substantiate and communicate therapeutic options for patients
  • Practical clinical experience including attendance of consultant-led ward rounds Previous experience in delivering training and education
  • Previous experience of clinical audit work and/or pharmacy practice research
  • Demonstrable use of clinical audit to improve practice
