Job summary
To welcome patients, consultant medical staff, visitors and all other members of staff to the Lindo Wing as part of Imperial Private Healthcare.
To co-ordinate all inpatient admissions, ensuring that tests and investigations relating to the admissions are arranged as required, with the aim of maximising both bed occupancy and income for the Trust.
This is inclusive of liaison with medical and nursing staff to ensure appropriate room allocation.
To liaise closely with the theatre manager for Imperial private healthcare at the Lindo wing to agree all private operations, ensuring that these are efficiently organised and that any prosthesis or other pieces of equipment are ordered in a timely manner.
To ensure that any private theatre sessions not being used are escalated to the service manager within a 48 hour period. To be able to provide daily admission paperwork to senior managers as requested.
Main duties of the job
The aim of the role is to give a strong, professional first impression of Imperial Private Healthcare for patients, medical staff, and visitors to the department, either in person or through e-mail and telephone.
This includes answering patient queries, being responsible for the Private Healthcare e-mail account, and being responsible for passing medical enquiries onto the appropriate consultant for a response.
The post holder will also ensure that patients have completed their necessary paperwork when they arrive at the department. In addition, the patient coordinator will assist the inpatient coordinators with arranging pre-authorisations for admissions and ITU/HDU requirements.
Finally, the assistant inpatient coordinator is responsible for ensuring the reception area is a welcoming and clean environment at all times.
The post holder will provide an efficient and effective private service and be the first point of contact in this front facing role for the service portraying a professional image.
