Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to come and join us in Renal & Transplant Services located at Hammersmith Hospital as a Renal Admissions Scheduler. The kidney and transplant service is a regional centre and covers the whole of north west London. We provide a comprehensive service through our main inpatient centre at Hammersmith Hospital and our satellite dialysis centres across the region.

This role will be supporting the elective admissions booking processes, as well as supporting the wider directorate services such as outpatients and secretarial administrative teams when cross cover needs arise. We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual with a willingness to learn and develop within this role. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellent administrative skills, good communication and an ability to organise and prioritise their own workload.

Main duties of the job

Your main duties will include:

- Responsibility for scheduling theatre and non theatre procedures based on urgency and within the local, Trust and government targets.

- Inputting data on excel spreadsheets and other data system such patient information systems

- Generating admissions letters and e-mails to patients, confirming admissions details and instructions for the procedures.

- Maintain up to date waiting list information.

- Assist in the collation of information for statistical and waiting time reports as and when requested.

- Communicating as required with patients, relatives, staff and multidisciplinary teams

- Answer phone enquiries from patient and clinical teams regarding bookings

- Providing a comprehensive clerical and administrative service for the Renal Admissions team, as well as supporting the wider directorate in outpatient and secretarial areas when needed.
