Job summary

The NW London Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) has an ambitious programme of maternity transformation, to implement the recommendations of The National Maternity Review (Better Births 2016), the NHS Long Term Plan (NHSE 2019) and recent recommendations from the Ockenden Report (DHSC 2022).

Within the LMNS, the NW Maternal Medicine Network (MMN) aims to provide equitable pre-pregnancy, antenatal and postnatal care for all people who have significant medical problems that pre-date or arise during pregnancy or after birth. The other Networks overseen by the LMNS are Pre-term Birth and Fetal Medicine, whose remit is to improve outcomes for babies born early and/or who require specialist input during pregnancy.

The Networks serve the maternity units at Imperial College Healthcare Trust, The Hillingdon Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Foundation Trust and London North West University Healthcare Trust.

As the Project Support Officer you will provide administrative and secretarial support within small leadership teams. You will work closely with a variety of clinicians across the sector organising and co-ordinating Network meetings and educational events. You will also be helping the Networks to collate data and communicate with service users to gather feedback on their experience of care.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide a highly efficient, professional and comprehensive administrative and secretarial service to the NWL Maternity Networks (including the Maternal Medicine Network). The post holder will support the teams with management of established and new projects/services, gathering information and undertaking enquiries as and when required for the team and the Networks.
  • The post holder will be expected to manage and prioritise their workload, liaising closely with the Lead Midwife for Maternal Medicine and other members of the Networks' leadership teams.
  • Be proactive and use initiative and judgement to deal with and prioritise issues that arise throughout the working week.
