Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team in Maternity at St Mary's. You will be part of the team, working closely with the ward manager, midwives and maternity support workers, working to ensure the unit is organised, safe and clean.
You will ensure and maintain safe stock levels on the ward. You will assist with ensuring a safe clean environment. You will have an organised and positive approach to ensure the tasks are carried out in a timely, effective manner. Able to cope well under pressure, you will utilise excellent communication and team skills.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities services in the department area and ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
They will work independently but as an integral part of the Maternity team and will be required to work closely with contractors and support service departments ensuring the delivery of cleaning, catering and minor maintenance.
He/she will monitor quality standards, report deficiencies and take appropriate action.
They will have systems for accurate record keeping; this will include the maintenance of documentation and inputting of data.
