Job summary

The Patient Service Centre (PSC) is an exciting department that provides an outpatient booking, diagnostic booking, inpatient / daycase booking and switchboard services.

The PSC is a contact centre for patients and referrers into Imperial College NHS Healthcare Trust. This is a very busy contact centre and involves management of high call volumes, accurate data entry and performance targets.

In the PSC we are CAKE, a team that is collaborative, aspirational, kind and expert.

We're an expanding team and play a key role in helping to transform administration services for the Trust, and creating positive patient experiences. We currently look after 44 specialties within the Trust providing a first point of contact and outpatient booking service.

We are open from 8am to 8pm from Monday to Friday

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to support the delivery of excellent patient care across our outpatient contact centre and appointment booking process. This role requires an individual who can multi task, work in a busy department and be able to lead by example in demanding and challenging situations.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of waiting list processes, the monitoring required for this and the ability to support the achievement of all operational targets including 18 week referral to treatment and national cancer waiting time standards.

Applicants will be proficient in Word, Excel and patient management software systems.

Main duties of the job

  • To supervise the people, performance and processes of the Outpatient Access Teams at St Mary's and Charing Cross Hospitals.
  • Organises the allocation of work within the teams on a daily and weekly basis
