Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Specialist role in Andrology based at Charing Cross Hospital in Fulham. The benign Urology department comprises many different sub-specialties focused on the diagnosis and treatment of non-malignant urological conditions. This includes surgical andrology, Endourology (stones and male LUTS) and functional urology. The post holder will deliver specialist high quality care to patients with conditions relating to erectile dysfunction, running clinics and collaborating with consultant urologists.
You will be expected to demonstrate a high level of skill in communication, co-ordination of care and an ability to work flexibly within a multi-disciplinary team. Providing excellent patient experience is critical for all our patients and you will play a key role in ensuring that experience is optimized through accessible and effective communication with compassion and empathy. The post-holder will also play a key role in educating non-specialist staff and patients in this specialty and will therefore be expected to demonstrate experience and innovation in teaching.
The post-holder will be provided with extensive development opportunities to develop into the role of senior clinical nurse specialist and to develop skills and competencies to undertake nurse-led and advanced practice in the future.
Main duties of the job
Review of patients in clinic post-surgery
The coordination and management of effective MDT's and follow up outcome
The facilitation and running of seminars for prostate cancer ED patients.
The facilitation and running of teaching sessions for nurses within the Division.
