Job summary
We are looking for two enthusiastic, dynamic and experienced renal dietitians (band 6 and/or 7) to work as part of a team of nine renal dietitians to provide a Specialist Renal Dietetic service at Hammersmith Hospital and its satellite dialysis units. If you have excellent band 6 clinical skills but insufficient renal experience, a Band 6-7 training post could also be considered.
These posts are specialist dietetic positions which require the ability for independent dietetic work within an MDT to manage the dietetic care of patients under the West London & Renal and Transplant which looks after over 3500 people, including nine satellite haemodialysis units and is the largest facility of its kind in Europe.
You will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality, evidence-based clinical service primarily to patients on the renal wards at Hammersmith Hospital, in renal out-patient clinics (virtual and on-site) and allocated renal satellite dialysis units. Each post can be taken up as a part time or full-time position. Flexible working and some working from home can be considered.
Main duties of the job
- To provide a highly specialised Nutrition & Dietetic service to the North West London renal satellite units
- To support the clinical supervision of junior Dietetic staff.
- To provide speciality Nutrition & Dietetic input into education, training and development programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate medical, nursing and dietetic students in addition to other training requirements.
- To be responsible for the development and implementation of evidence based nutritional guidelines and policies in the area of Renal Dietetics.
- To initiate and participate in regular service improvement, quality improvement and audit.
