Job summary
We are looking to recruit a band 6 capital financial accountant to join the capital team.
This is an exciting role and time to join the capital team following the merging of the capital accounting and strategic capital teams. The team is made up of 7 team members and the post holder will be supporting the capital senior financial accountant and the capital finance manager with their day-to-day duties
The role involves working with key stakeholders within and outside the Trust and providing operational support for the month end process, fixed assets register, capital accounting and external audit.
You will provide expert advice on technical matters to colleagues in finance and outside finance and also contributing towards the management of the balance sheet, control account reconciliation and reviewing capital VAT entries.
This is an interesting role, which offers hybrid/ flexible working with lots of developmental opportunities.

Main duties of the job
- The post holder will be the capital financial accountant for the capital team and will report directly to the capital senior financial accountant and provide support to the capital finance manager.
- The role is an interesting and developmental role
- The post holder will be expected to lead on the capital accounting month end processes and ensure that transactions are accurately accounted for whilst maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.
- The post holder will support and lead on various aspects regarding the fixed asset register and work with operational managers across the Trust in ensuring that there is consistency with their local operational asset register.
- The post holder will ensure that financial controls are adhered to, balance sheet reconciliation are completed on time, support with the monthly financial returns to NHSE, annual statutory accounts productions and the external audit process.
