Job summary
Manage the defence of all personal injury claims against the Trust ensuring that each claim is fully investigated.
Acknowledge and correspond with claimant solicitors, litigants in person and any other relevant party, via letter, telephone and email.
Undertake the investigation to ensure that all relevant statements, documentation, evidence and any other information relevant to the claim has been obtained, including taking witness statements from staff, as required.
Main duties of the job
1.1. Liaise with the NHS Resolution, claimant and defendant solicitors, and advise on the acceptance
of settlements and procedure under the supervision of the Inquest and Claims
Manager
1.2. Complete the LPTS form and NHS Resolution paperwork
and send this to NHS Resolution. Liaising with case managers.
1.3. Help ensure that the number of claims is reduced
by reporting the appropriate learning and
developing systems interlinking governance and risk management.
1.4. Attend conferences and court on these
matters and take a full note of proceedings

what will be expected of them. To support the employee throughout the
experience by interpreting procedure as required whilst acting in a professional
and tactful manner throughout. To attend court and make a full attendance note
where the proceedings are of interest to the Trust.
