Job summary
This post has been created to allow those considering a career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to gain experience in this speciality in a dynamic tertiary level unit. St Mary's has a high risk labour ward with Level 2/3 neonatal care facilities with a busy gynaecological emergency service and many gynaecological clinics affording excellent training and audit opportunities. Activities will include dedicated sessions for the development of new clinical skills. The posts have similar timetables to doctors in training grades and provide an excellent basis for applying for a national training number in the future, for which we have an outstanding track-record. The out of hours rotas involves working a 1:9 full shift rota that is EWTD compliant with good supervision and support from more senior trainees and consultants.
Main duties of the job
A typical weekly timetable will be as follows with an out of hours commitment to general obstetrics & gynaecology which is 1B compliant (usually a 1:9 rota with a split week on call)
