Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated, Advanced Cardiothoracic Nurse Practitioner. This post will be at Band 7 if you are a non medical prescriber or band 6 if a trainee post is more suitable for you. Once you have the non medical prescribing qualification, you will be uplifted to Band 7. This is a full time, substantive position covering a seven days/week service. Night shift working is not required for this role.
You will be based on A9 Ward which is a 20 bedded cardiothoracic ward. Alongside the surgical and nursing teams, you will be caring for our inpatients, as well as providing ward based outpatient care and telephone consultations on an ad hoc basis.
You will be joining a dynamic and friendly team who have a passion for delivering high standards of patient care, investing in the professional development of the nursing team, looks after well-being and has a strong commitment to retaining their workforce within the directorate.
You will be supported by the Senior Nursing team and have the opportunity for further development that can be tailored to the successful candidate.
Main duties of the job
The advanced clinical practitioner is an experienced registered healthcare professional with specialist skills to assess and treat patients and manage the clinical environment, in collaboration with the management and consultant team. The advanced clinical practitioner will act as an autonomous practitioner in forming clinical decisions and complex management plans in the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of patients. In conjunction with other senior healthcare professionals in the team formulate the development of clinical guidance for all aspects of clinical practice.
