Job summary
Imperial Urology is delighted to be able to offer an exciting and unique opportunity for experienced and passionate theatre practitioners to work at the next level at Charing Cross Hospital. You will drive, lead and showcase this role by delivering expert perioperative care to patients undergoing prostate, kidney and bladder surgery within our cancer service. We are recruiting two Surgical Care Practitioners to join our team as we expand our SCP-led service into a world class - Urology service.
We are looking for two experienced theatre practitioners already working at band 6 or 7 level who want to progress to the next level. You will use your knowledge and skills to provide expert, efficient and safe patient care whilst under supervision of a Consultant Urological surgeon. You will be highly skilled and passionate individuals who have the appetite and ambition to undertake the two yearlong Master's level Royal College of Surgeons SCP course. This will be fully funded. All candidates must be able to provide evidence of a strong commitment to the provision of quality driven, evidence-based practice in order to enhance the patient experience.

Main duties of the job
A band 7 Surgical Care Practitioner (SCP) is a registered non-medical healthcare professional who is extending the scope of their practice by completing an accredited training programme. They work as a member of the Urology surgical team and perform surgical interventions and elements pre-operative and post-operative care under the supervision of a senior Urology surgeon. The SCP will learn their extended role in order to provide high quality perioperative care across a range of robotic and laparoscopic kidney, bladder and prostate procedures
