Job summary

Applications are invited for a substantive Consultant Dermatologist to join the Dermatology Department at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. This 6 PA post is based at St Mary's Hospital.

The posts have arisen as replacements for outgoing post-holders. Clinical activity will entail a combination of Adult General Dermatology clinic, Teledermatology clinic for urgent suspected skin cancer, Electronic Referral Triage for routine referrals, and a Biopsy list.

The post-holder will be part of a cross-site team of thirteen substantive consultants, four specialist trainees, two clinical fellows, five dermatology day unit nurses, and four skin cancer clinical nurse specialists.

Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register for Dermatology, or be within 6 months of obtaining Certificate of Completion of Training or equivalent at time of interview.

Main duties of the job

Clinical work will be divided between outpatient clinics, skin surgery, tele-dermatology, electronic referral triage / Advice & Guidance. Additional clinical roles include review of inpatients, participation in a low-frequency out-of-hours cross-site Consultant on-call rota, attendance at multidisciplinary skin cancer meetings, and a monthly Complex Medical Dermatology clinic. Non-clinical time will be allocated to maintain professional development.
