Job summary

WLCH & Imperial College Trusts Paediatric Department have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Paediatric nurse. The Trust are seekingto employ a hardworking and committed individual to join our team as a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Educator providing high quality care on our busy and fast paced wards. The role with be both practice development and clinical working with the nurses on the floor, whilst supporting the learning and development of the Paediatric nursing team. You will have the opportunity to work in all areas of General Paediatrics. You will be supported by the Modern Matron and senior Nursing team.

Join our dynamic and friendly nursing teams working on our children's wards providing general and specialist care to the children and families that on our paediatric wards. You will have the opportunity to line manage staff and develop your management skills through the leadership programme.

All members of the nursing team have a designated link role or work stream to enhance clinical service delivery and development of the Paediatrics. The role will support staff to develop their clinical skills in looking after patients on the general paediatric wards and clinical areas. Your personal development will be supported through clinical supervision with the Paediatric Senior Nursing Team. All staff are expected to undertake mandatory study in accordance with their personal development programme.

Main duties of the job

  • To Provide specialist nursing advice to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients/clients and relatives/carers without supervision in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team in line with local and national targets.
  • The post holder will provide specialist nursing care and support and deputise for their line manager in the management of their clinical speciality.
  • To be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and to provide cover for any area specified acting as professional role model providing direct and indirect clinical care, teaching and research.
  • To support staff to deliver high quality effective care for patients thus improving the patients 'experience.
  • To be a role model for leadership, training, coaching and assessing staff and student nurses to development at all levels.
  • To work with the Paediatric Education team to develop strategies for education and training.
  • To work collaboratively as part of general paediatrics and Division education group.
  • Contribute to the development of programmes of education and training, whilst demonstrating awareness of cultural diversity in the workplace.
