Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an experience cardiology nurse to gain experience working as a Specialist Nurse working autonomously in the implantation and explant of ILRs. The post holder will need to be working at least as a band 5/6 nurse in cardiology or a specialist areas with the right transferable skills.
A Band 6 or 7 will be offered dependant on experience.
An Implantable Loop Recorder (ILR) is a cardiac monitor that is implanted in the subcutaneous tissue of the chest wall. It has the ability for long term continuous monitoring to identify correlation between symptoms and unexplained arrhythmias
The post holder(s) will be required to work through comprehensive competencies, to be deemed, proficient to independently perform insertion of ILRs and explant ILRs. Part of this post will focus on LinQ Research.
It is advisable that you contact the Lead Nurse for the service to understand the service in-depth.
Main duties of the job
- Providing individualised care to patients/clients and relatives/carers without supervision in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team in line with local and national targets.
- To be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and to provide cover for any area specified acting as professional role model providing direct and indirect clinical care, teaching and research.
