Imperial College Healthcare (ICHT) NHS Trust wishes to recruit a trust grade doctor to Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital.The duties of this post will be delivered at Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital. The rota is fully compliant with the new Junior Doctors Contract.
Applications are invited from doctors for the post of Senior Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics and Obstetric Medicine in the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital. Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital is part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS trust and was awarded Outstanding by the CQC at its last inspection. The successful candidate would work under the supervision of the consultant obstetricians and specialist midwives. Opportunity to be the Imperial trainee lead for the Race and Health Observatory project to improve Parity in maternity care amongst different Ethnic Groups. This involves working on the Imperial / KHP project focusing on improving care in post partum haemorrhage and includes writing a course handbook, designing, implementing and delivering the course ( aligned with RCOG values) and developing a toolkit and support platforms for this course.
Alongside this exciting project involvement with a focus on education you will be part of the Education team at Imperial, delivering and developing the mandatory training in line with national and local requirements including close liaison with the risk and Q&S Lead Trainee.
Main duties of the job
This is a 12 month position at registrar level, ideally suited to a candidate who is interested in developing their skills in obstetric medicine within an internationally renowned centre.The post also includes an out of hour on call component at registrar level post involving full on call for both obstetrics and gynecology to participate in a 1 in 10 on call rota. The hospital is covered at night by an obstetric consultant (resident until 11pm then from home thereafter), a non resident Gynaecology consultant, a Senior Registrar (Specialist trainee 6/7), Registrar (Specialist Trainee 3-5) and SHOs (Specialist trainee 1/2).
