Job summary
This is a great opportunity for a high performing operational manager to develop their leadership skills and drive some exciting service developments within a complex, fast-paced environment incorporating service transformation and service reconfiguration.
The deputy general manager for clinical haematology will provide effective operational management support for the clinical haematology service assisting the lead clinicians and senior managers as required and ensuring that the service is responsive, innovative and provided to the highest possible clinical and performance standards. Reporting to the general manager, the deputy general manager will be responsible for:
- Monitoring service delivery against strategic and business plans throughout the year to ensure successful delivery.
- Working with the general manager to produce accurate, high quality business cases for service developments.
- Financial management.
- Working with the service manager, lead nurse, clinical leads and wider teams to achieve sustained improvements.
- Deputising for, and acting up on behalf of, the general manager.
- Ensuring that the directorate services provided are of a consistently high quality and deliver an excellent patient experience.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will report to the general manager and will provide appropriate support to the general manager and the clinical director in the delivery of all operational functions in the directorate. The individual will have responsibility for defined services and allocated resources. A specific requirement of this post is to lead the business management team.
