Job summary

Two exciting opportunities have come up in the Division of Medicine for dedicated, proactive and experienced operational managers to join the Stroke & Neurosciences Directorate permanently, and the Urgent & Emergency Medicine Directorate on 12 month fixed term as the Service Managers.

The successful applicants will either work within the Neurosurgery or Emergency Departments respectively. They will offer day to day support whilst also working on the development and implementation of projects to improve service delivery as well as patient experience.

The post holder will be responsible for providing efficient and effective operational management support, working collaboratively across directorates, with the overall aim of ensuring that services are responsive and provided to the highest possible performance and clinical standards.

They will have a sound understanding of performance management skills as well as an understanding of clinical pathways. The post holder will be able to engage and work with colleagues, teams and peers to deliver directorate wide improvement. They will need to have excellent communication skills as well an ability to motivate and lead a team.

We are looking for applicants who can balance the demands of a busy workload, whilst remaining responsive and keeping the delivery of excellent patient care at the centre of everything they do.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be expected to deputise for the Deputy General Manager and General Manager when required.
