Job summary
The Division of Surgery and Cancer are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Rota Manager to join the General & Vascular Surgery team. Accountable to the Business Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering operational standards within the Surgery, Cancer and Cardiovascular division. The role will be expected to work on multiple sites as and when required, the main base being St Mary's Hospital.
The Band 5 post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of medical staffing rotas across the various departments, including General and Colorectal surgery, Vascular surgery and HPB surgery; working on their own initiative to identify and taking action to resolve issues as deemed necessary. Overall, they will play an active role in acting as the first point of contact for medical staff including sickness reporting, annual leave, study leave, shift swaps and organising locum cover. This will also include providing effective management of trainee/junior doctors, ensuring effective planning and implementation of local inductions and training days.
The successful candidate will have previous experience of managing rotas, excellent communication skills with the ability to develop key working relationships with all levels of staff including senior managers, consultants, junior medical staff and nurses. They will also have the ability to work independently, as part of a team and within the values of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will take responsibility for the administration of medical staffing issues throughout the General and Vascular directorate including assisting in the recruitment of medical staffing of all tiers, recording and monitoring of leave and booking of locums.
