Job summary

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated speciality support manager who is keen to acquire and develop operational skills within a supportive Directorate structure. We are keen to attract candidates who will work collaboratively with operational and clinical colleagues to develop new and exciting pathways of care and who can think laterally and be flexible in helping to meet the demands of a large complex but supportive organisation.

You must be hard working, flexible in terms of operational requirements but most importantly have the ability to drive service improvement and a 'can do' attitude. In turn you will be supported but also have the opportunity to develop new skills and use existent skills and abilities to meet the demands of the job.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide highly efficient, professional, executive level secretarial support and management of all office administration processes. This will primarily be underpinning and supporting the activities of the DEPT/ SERVICE. The (individual providing EA service to) role encompasses a wide and diverse spectrum of engagements, correspondence and publications and the post holder is required to receive, analyse and interpret queries and liaise with staff and management in (for example) medical specialties, professional education and training, UK Departments of Health, and other NHS and Government bodies.
  • The post holder will be delegated a high level of responsibility, manage their own work and use their own initiative taking key decisions within broadly defined administrative policies, frequently without reference to the (individual providing EA service to). The post-holder will lead on all office administration activities.
