Job summary
The perfusion team at Hammersmith Hospital are seeking to recruit for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join their friendly and committed team. Applications are invited from accredited perfusionists registered with the College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists of Great Britain and Ireland, with experience of adult perfusion practice including cell salvage and intra-aortic balloon therapy.
Approximately 600 adult procedures are performed at Hammersmith Hospital annually including mini bypass and minimally invasive procedures. We are one of three hospitals locally on a rotation covering an acute aortic dissection service. We operate a four-day working week with a 24/7 on-call service which also includes clinical support to the Trust's trauma service based at St. Mary's Hospital. There are also opportunities for involvement in research and personal development.
Main duties of the job
As an experienced and autonomous practitioner, contribute to the provision of a clinical perfusion service for the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust incorporating a primary responsibility to the Hammersmith Hospital and a peripatetic clinical service to the Trust in general. This will include cardiopulmonary bypass, cell salvage and intra-aortic balloon pump systems.
