Job summary
This a 6 month fixed term 1.0 WTE consultant post, based in the within the Endocrinology & Diabetes department at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The post will be to see patients in Diabetes Clinics at Charing Cross, Hammersmith and St Mary's Hospitals as well as undertake Acute and General Medicine at Charing Cross Hospital in the division of medicine. The post holder will be appointed to transform the delivery of patient care by the Diabetes team. As such, the post holder will be expected to have an interest in General Medicine and Diabetes as well as specialist knowledge and prior expertise in diagnosis and management of type 1 diabetes, diabetes technology and renal diabetes disease. In addition, an interest in, and desire to deliver and innovate inpatient services will be essential.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will divide his/her time between clinical work, inpatient and outpatients. There are fixed weekly commitments which include type 1 diabetes clinic, inpatient diabetes ward rounds and clinical meetings. Acute/general medicine ward rounds and shifts are fixed. Applicants should have an interest and experience in all of these areas.

- Full and Specialist registration (and with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC), or be eligible for registration within six months of interview.
