At UWE you will learn the scientific basis of engineering and gain a grounding in anatomy and physiology before developing a more advanced and in-depth focus on clinical engineering and the professional aspects of healthcare science.

Radiotherapy electronics engineering involves the use of a high level of technical expertise to maintain and develop radiotherapy equipment for the treatment of cancer. You will develop a range of mechanical and electrical engineering skills by working with a highly experienced team with complex cancer treatment equipment; e.g. linear accelerators and CTs.

Each day provides many challenges and opportunities to learn, whilst having a direct impact on the delivery of radiotherapy to our cancer patients. The department has fully equipped electronics and mechanical workshops for on site repairs and for the development of bespoke projects
