Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated Band 6 paediatric dietitian to join our dynamic and friendly paediatric department. You will provide a specialist paediatric dietetic service in liaison with the clinical lead Dietitians. This rotational post covers both in and outpatient work and you must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the management of patients in this specialist area of dietetics.

Main duties of the job

To provide a specialist paediatric dietetic service at Imperial College Healthcare Trust, in liaison with the clinical lead Dietitian. This post covers both in and outpatient work across both Paediatric and Neonatal Services; the individual must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the management of patients in the specialist area

Essential

  • Recognised Degree and/or postgraduate diploma
  • HCPC registered (Dietitian).
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD

Desirable

  • BDA Paediatric Modules 1-5

Experience

Essential

  • Recent post graduate dietetic experience or equivalent and to also include experience in an acute setting
  • Evidence of paediatric workplace shadowing
  • Experience of being involved in audit
  • Experience of clinical supervision of students

Desirable

  • Experience of working in paediatric dietetics

Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities

Essential

  • Nutritional assessment techniques.
  • Use of dietary assessment software.
  • Ability to work as a team member and autonomously as a specialist within department guidelines.
  • Computer literacy including email, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Desirable

  • Behaviour change knowledge and skills
