Job summary

As a Front of house receptionist you will provide a full receptionist service, be first point of contact for patients and visitors attending the hospital in accordance with the best principles of customer care.

The candidate we are looking for will have a warm, compassionate manner, be helpful, friendly and approachable. They will take pride in looking after the public areas in and around the reception and will support the health and safety of all staff and patients by ensuring hygiene requirements such as face masks and hand sanitiser are being used when required.

Experience in customer care is essential and you must be confident in challenging negative behaviour, with the support of our security staff. You will be comfortable working with colleagues from a wide range of backgrounds and different levels of seniority, in addition to patients and visitors from across the community.

Main duties of the job

  • The Front of house receptionist is responsible for greeting and assisting patients, visitors, staff and external organisations, providing extra help and support where needed. You will provide advice and guidance to patients and visitors or wherever possible, find the answer to their questions.
  • The role also provides key support to the security function with administration of temporary and permanent Trust security identification cards using the Trust computerised identification system, issuing of temporary parking permits and management or keys during reception hours.
