Job summary
At Imperial College Healthcare we have a highly skilled Site Operations team, consisting of nurses with a wide range of clinical backgrounds who work together providing effective operational management to the Trust site 24 hours a day. In addition, the team work as advanced practitioners on nights, working autonomously with a wide range of patients. It's a fast paced role where no two days are ever the same, and we are seeking a resilient, innovative clinician to join the team.
Main duties of the job
The Site Nurse Practitioners, working with the Senior Site Nurse Practitioners, will provide out of hours site management to ensure co-ordinated cross-site management.
During the out of hours period, the Site Nurse Practitioners, as the most senior manager on site, will provide operational management to the hospital, ensuring the smooth running of the site and providing effective risk management. The post holder will deal with all emergency situations that arise out of hours and will liaise with internal and external agencies as deemed necessary.
As the senior nursing lead, the post holder will ensure the provision of high quality patient care during the out of hours period and provide support, guidance and leadership to all members of the multidisciplinary team, promoting high standards of patient care. The Site Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for coordinating the Medical and Nursing response to patients' needs out of hours, and ensure the provision of appropriate and timely interventions, acting as first responder in the Hospital at Night setting and liaising with medical staff and other members of the MDT to ensure that appropriate timely and safe care is delivered by the person most suitable to do so. The post holder will be expected to supervise the activities of nursing staff in clinical areas.
