Job summary
We are recruiting a full time Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Children's Allergy Service in a large well established specialist tertiary Children's Allergy service. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and skilled children's nurse with clinical experience or a particular interest in the care and management of children with allergic disease. You will have excellent clinical knowledge and skills and enjoy team working.
You will have the opportunity to:
- develop or further develop your specialist allergy knowledge and clinical skills, including the holistic multisystem management of asthma, eczema, food allergies and allergic rhinitis; as well as other less common allergic and immunological conditions. We also provide immunotherapy, food, drug challenge(s) and venom desenitization services.
- work within established nurse led services, gaining supervised practice developing advanced nursing skills
- participate in research, audit and quality improvement projects
- become part of a supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary team committed to delivering accessible, high quality, evidence based care
You need to be well organized, motivated and committed to further developing and delivering high quality holistic multidisciplinary care; enjoy supporting children and their families in the outpatient, daycare, inpatient and A&E setting.

Main duties of the job
Your responsibilities will include performing a wide range of diagnositic testing, immunotherapy, anti IgE adminstration, venom desnitization and food/drug challenges. You will be providing information, education and support; helping families to manage long term conditions. You will be actively involved in the smooth delivery of care and continued development of the Allergy service.
