Job summary
This is a Dermatology Clinical Fellow post, with duties equivalent to an ST3 trainee. The post-holder will form an integral part of the Dermatology team at Hammersmith Hospital, delivering outpatient and inpatient-based dermatological care to patients, under supervision of the Consultant team. The Dermatology team at Imperial comprises Consultants, Specialty Trainees, Clinical Fellows, and Clinical Nurse Specialists. Consultant-led outpatient services are provided at Hammersmith Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and St Mary's Hospital. The department sees a high volume of outpatient referrals for general dermatology as well as suspected skin cancer. Day treatment, including phototherapy, is delivered in a dedicated Day Treatment Unit at the St Mary's Hospital site. Dermatology care is provided to inpatients at all three sites.

Main duties of the job
This is a part-time post over 3 days per week. The post-holder will primarily be based at Hammersmith Hospital, with one session based at Charing Cross Hospital. A flexible approach to cross-site working may be required depending on the needs of the service.
Clinical
- Conduct outpatient clinics, under Consultant supervision
- Perform minor skin surgery procedures
- Attendance at weekly Skin Cancer MDT meeting / Teledermatology meeting
- Participate in the day on-call rota, including managing referrals from GPs and other outpatient and inpatient specialties
- Participate in Consultant-led inpatient ward rounds
On-call
- The post-holder will contribute to the cross-site out-of-hours on-call rota
- An on-call pay supplement is included
- On-call is non-resident, with a requirement to attend on site when needed for patient reviews
- Hours: 5pm-7pm on weekdays; 9am-5pm on weekends and public holidays
- On-call cover is cross-site for 4 hospitals (the 3 Imperial hospitals and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital)
- Frequency: 1 in 8, pro rata for part time.
Teaching
- Deliver clinic-based teaching and tutorials to Imperial College undergraduates
Management
- Participate in audit and quality improvement projects
Research
- Participate in dermatology research projects
